Irving (Isidore) Stoltz
Apr 24, 1981      Nisan 20 5741

Irving was born in Russia to Ida and Harry Stoltz on Dec. 25, 1905. When he was 1, he and Ida emigrated to the US and joined Harry who was already there. Their family grew to eventually include 2 more sons (Jack and Benny) and 1 daughter (Celia). Irving grew up in Brooklyn, NY where he went to grade school and then Boys HS. Continuing his education was not an option for Irving; as the oldest son, he needed to work to help his family. He found a job in the fur industry in NY and was trained to work stretching and preparing the pelts. A mutual friend introduced him to Henrietta Joseph and they married on May 25, 1940.  They eventually purchased a two-family home in Queens where they raised their two sons, Errol and Marc. Irving’s focus was always on providing for his family and his strong work ethic enabled him to do so. He continued to work in the fur industry until he retired, and in 1972, he and Henrietta re-located to Boca Raton, FL. While there, he enjoyed watching the Greyhounds race and also going to Gulfstream racetrack. He particularly loved it when his sons visited them, especially with his 5 grandchildren. They could always count on him to have cellophane-wrapped hard candies in his pockets! Irving died on April 3, 1981. He is remembered for his stubborn and loving nature and the pride he felt in his sons.
