Henrietta (Joseph) Stoltz
Apr 3, 1981      AdarII 28 5741

Henrietta was born on June 3, 1912 to Ethel and Barney Jaslowitz. (The family’s last name was changed to Joseph after Henrietta was born). She was the oldest and only daughter of 4 children (Albert, Harold, and David). When she was only a teenager, her mother died, leaving Henrietta with the responsibility for caring for her 3 younger brothers. She basically had to bring them up, the youngest being only 6 years old. She did all the cooking, cleaning and taking care of the household. A girlfriend of hers eventually introduced her to Irving Stoltz and they married on May 25, 1940.  Family was the most important thing to Henrietta and she was thrilled to ultimately have two sons, Errol and Marc. She did, however, always want a girl. (After all, she raised her three brothers, and had two boys of her own!) When she became a grandmother she was overjoyed to finally get her wish for a girl. Henrietta loved cooking and was wonderful at it. Her holiday foods were devoured, but it was difficult getting her to actually sit down at a holiday table as she was always heading back into the kitchen to bring out more food.  She had the kind of laugh that made others around her want to join in. And she loved making others laugh with her.  She enjoyed living in Florida, creating ceramic animals and giving them as gifts to her children and grandchildren.  But her most joyous moments were when her children and grandchildren came to visit. Henrietta died on April 24, 1981 and will always be remembered for her kindness, wonderful sense of humor and especially her love of family.
