One of the greatest gifts I have ever received occurred on September 7th 1975. After years of doctor appointments, fertility treatments and failed pregnancies we decided that adopting a child was the way to move on. We made this decision on a Friday and through some networking we were able to adopt a baby girl in South Carolina that week. She was a beautiful healthy baby and clearly meant to be ours.
Our daughter Tami had many blessings. She was talented and gifted in all the ways that one can be. She was exceptionally intelligent and gifted in both music and art. I am not sure that she fully appreciated all these qualities. She struggled with self confidence and never wanted to stand out. In spite of that she had a wonderful professional career as a stage manager.
I believe that becoming part of our family was as much of a blessing for her as it was for us. I know that she always believed that. Her presence in our lives made room for another baby. Being an adopted child had challenges but she always knew how much we loved her and lived her life that way
Sadly, she had two acute strokes. Her passing left a huge hole in our hearts. We miss her every day.
